These
Best Practices in Glass Recycling are proven methods and techniques
for addressing specific technical issues in Glass Recycling.
These summaries provide information, guidance, and references
in the areas of materials sourcing, processing, product manufacturing,
and end-use applications. This body of knowledge represents
the experience gained from over 30 glass research projects,
and represents cooperation from equipment providers, glass
processors, recycled glass manufacturers, and industry experts.
Although the Best Practices focus on applications for recycled
container glass, many of these uses are applicable to other
sources of recycled glass, such as auto windshields, laboratory
glass, and fluorescent light glass. Of course each end use
requires knowledge of the appropriate grades of glass and
may necessitate specific processing and manufacturing methods.
