Composting Produce Waste and Wax-Coated Cardboard

Summary:

A pilot study showed feasibility of composting produce waste and wax coated cardboard (WCC) using a low technology approach, to promote development of programs to recover this mixed stream generated by grocery stores. Technical callenges of dealing with WCC, which is not commonly composted, and other issues are addressed.
