Compost as a Growing Media for Bioswales (1997)

Summary:

Bioswales are ditches, lined with thick grass, installed to filter out contaminants and sediment in storm water runoff and retain moisture. Bioswales using compost and conventional soil were constructed and tested for performance with respect to contaminant removal. The bioswales constructed with compost performed better than controls.
