Mill-Based Residual Fiber for use in Molded Pulp Technology (1997)

Summary:

This project evaluated pulp and paper mill residual fiber as furnish in molded pulp technology. Based on the results of this study it is concluded that certain mill-based residual fibers can be successfully processed into typical pulp molded structures and are viable and acceptable for this application. The project also developed pulp specifications for a range of molded products; classified typical mill residual fibers; and processed a range of residual fibers to meet required specifications.
