This project tested recycled PET in manufacturing processes that for specific components of a solar oven that can reach and sustain an internal temperature of 300 degrees F. With the new oven design and manufacturing process, a total of 68, 20-ounce, clear PET bottles will be used in production of each oven, along with seven feet of recycled plastic lumber. Marketing strategies for solar ovens were also reviewed.
