President Trump Elevates Lucas To EEOC Chair

November 10, 2025

What's New

President Trump has designated Andrea Lucas as Chair of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Lucas had been serving as Acting Chair since the start of President Trump’s second term.

What It Means

This formal designation does not significantly change Lucas’ authority. However, it reflects the President’s support for Lucas’ leadership of the agency and his confidence in her ability to continue to implement his priorities. This move, in conjunction with the new Republican majority on the EEOC, positions the agency to implement major policy changes.

What You Should Do

Expect the EEOC to have a more active policy and enforcement agenda once the federal government reopens. CWC Members can discuss future agency direction at our upcoming Member Briefing: A Look Back and Ahead on December 10.
