CWC’s Colorado AI Law HR Compliance Desk Guide

June 8, 2026

What's New

CWC has published a resource to help employers understand and comply with Colorado’s recently enacted AI law (SB 26-189), which takes effect on January 1, 2027. The law replaces Colorado’s controversial 2024 AI law, which never went into effect, eliminating many of its more stringent requirements such as mandates to implement risk management programs and to conduct annual bias audits.

What It Means

Colorado’s updated AI law creates novel obligations for employers that use AI tools including notice requirements, post-adverse outcome disclosures, and recordkeeping duties.

CWC’s resource provides members with a clear overview of these requirements and offers practical guidance to support compliance.

What You Should Do

For a brief overview of the law, members should review CWC’s recent update on the topic: Colorado “Resets” Its AI Law – What Employers Need To Know.
