On June 23, 2021, President Biden nominated David M. Prouty to serve as a Member of the National Labor Relations Board after Republican Member Bill Emanuel's term expires in August. Prouty currently serves as the General Counsel of the Service Employees International Union Local 32BJ, the largest labor union for property service workers in the United States with more than 175,000 members. Prouty has had a long career in organized labor, notably having served as General Counsel of the Major League Baseball Players Association.
