DOL Formally Asks OMB To Extend VETS-4212 Form for Three Years

March 25, 2024

What's New

The Labor Department’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service has formally requested permission from the White House Office of Management and Budget to continue using the current version of the VETS-4212 form for another three years. The form is designed to collect a snapshot profile of a contractor’s workforce by protected veteran status, location, and the job categories used in the Employer Information (EEO-1) Report. Covered federal contractors must file a VETS-4212 form annually with DOL-VETS. The federal Paperwork Reduction Act requires DOL-VETS to receive periodic approval from OMB to continue using the VETS-4212. The agency announced its request in the Federal Register on March 14, 2024.

What It Means

There is no obvious opposition to extending the VETS-4212 in its current form, so OMB is likely to approve DOL-VETS’ request.

What You Should Do

As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, OMB is accepting public comments until April 15, 2024, on DOL-VETS’ formal request to extend the VETS-4212. CWC intends to file a comment letter supporting the request. CWC members who wish to offer comments, questions, or suggestions for inclusion in our comments should contact [email protected].
