OMB Approves Current Version of VETS-4212 for Three More Years

June 12, 2024

What's New

The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has approved the Labor Department’s request to continue using the current version of the Federal Contractor Veterans’ Employment Report (VETS-4212) through the 2026 filing season. The VETS-4212 is a mandatory annual report that covered federal contractors must file with DOL’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (DOL-VETS). The VETS-4212 is designed to collect a snapshot profile of a contractor’s workforce by protected veteran status, location, and the job categories used in the Employer Information (EEO-1) Report. Under the federal Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA), DOL must receive periodic approval from OMB to continue using the VETS-4212.

What It Means

With the three-year extension, the VETS-4212 has a new expiration date of June 30, 2027. Therefore, there are unlikely to be any changes to the VETS-4212 report or filing procedures for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 filing seasons.
